Photos of Rome

Christine is a great photographer and a valued member of our Facebook community. She has shared some gorgeous photos of Rome with us and a lovely story about her time in Rome too. I'll let Christine take it from here...

"Our trip to Rome has a lovely story, as for the last 20 years I have only ever wanted to wake up in Rome on my 40th birthday!! And guess what? I did! Thanks to my lovely husband, who made it come true.

I'm a married mother of two with a huge passion for photography, a hobby that revolves around my full-time job. We live in Newport, South Wales, UK, and we spend our summers surfing and going to VW rallies in our camper van.

During our flight to Rome a very nice Italian man offered us a lift from the airport into Rome—to the Colosseum. What a wonderful offer, which we accepted. Thank you, Andrea, who ever you are. November 1 was my 40th birthday, and I was in Rome.

I have loads of photos that capture Rome as best I can, not only for the main history but also for the real Rome that sometimes people don't 'see or are blind to. The homeless man on the bridge was a very powerful part of our trip!! All Saints Day, Bridge of Angels, and of course I was blown away. I have a lot of pictures of the homeless, food and just the essence and history of Rome.

Rome did not disappoint us!!! We even got to see the Pope at the Vatican on Sunday too. We cannot wait to return
